Hostage situation Silver Spring MD at the Discovery Building
The Washington Post reports a man with an explosive device has fired shots and taken a security guard hostage at the Discovery building in Silver Spring.

Metro Issues: Cheverly closed; all lines except Yellow are delayed
A person on the tracks was struck by a train at the Cheverly station just before 11. Shuttlebuses should get into place around noon. The station is closed except to emergency personnel. Cheverly closing press release
There are planned delays for track maintenance this week on the Red, Green, Orange, and Blue lines. Metro is advising building in an additional forty minutes to your travel plans, although the Weekend Track Sharing press release contains more details depending on which line you're traveling.
