Arlington County Traffic Advisory

The Arlington County Police Department will close several streets every Friday in April 2010, for the Crystal Run 5K Fridays. The road closures will be in effect on April 2, April 9, April 16, April 23, and April 30, 2010.

The following roads will be closed from 6:15 p.m. until 7:45 p.m.:
• Northbound lanes of Crystal Drive between 23rd Street and 12th Street (one north bound lane of Crystal Drive to remain open between 15th and 12th Street).
• Northbound lanes of Crystal Drive between 26th Street and Potomac Avenue / 27th Street
• Northbound lanes of Potomac Avenue between 27th Street and 33rd Street
• Two westbound lanes (one west bound lane to remain open) of 12th Street between Crystal Drive and Old Jefferson Davis Highway/Clark Street
• One lane of Old Jefferson Davis Highway northbound will be closed for approximately 100 feet (one lane to remain open)
The southbound lanes of Crystal Drive will remain open.

Good Athletic Shoe Stores?

I don't know if this topic is of general interest here, but it is DC-related and rather important to me:

Can any of you recommend a good athletic shoe store in the DC area, preferably one near a Metro station? I cannot drive for health reasons (seizures), so walking is not only the easiest form of exercise for me, it's also my main mode of transportation. Lately I have been having the worst luck buying shoes that fit decently without causing pain, blisters, or bleeding. If any of you know of any stores around here with knowledgeable, helpful staff who can help an increasingly desperate pedestrian find good footwear, please let me know!
