Capclave, the Washington Science Fiction Association conference, is October 22-24 at the Hilton Washington DC, in Rockville, accessible from the Twinbrook Metro station. Connie Willis is the main Guest of Honor, along with Ann and Jeff VanderMeer.
Here is the program schedule. There is no GOH speech but there is a GOH interview at 5 p.m. Saturday. The WSFA Small Press Award, for the best short story published in the past year, is at 9 p.m.
This is largely an older-style SF con, but it generally has a good dealer's room if you are looking for books. There are day passes if you don't want to be there for the weekend. At-door pricing is $60 for the whole con, $25 for Friday, $35 for Saturday and $10 for Sunday.
