This is NPR...An Evening With Planet Money
The U.S. economy, like you've never heard it explained before!
7 p.m., July 27, 2011 at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue --
Tickets on sale now!

It's hard to imagine anyone considering financial news entertaining. The nation's debt is through the roof, the housing market is in the dumps, and there's hardly a job in sight. Enter NPR's Planet Money, which you hear regularly on Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and This American Life. The team has won acclaim and accolades for its inventive, clear, and, yes, fun coverage of the ongoing financial crisis. Now, series founder Adam Davidson and contributing editor Alex Blumberg think they've figured out where the economy is headed next, and they're ready to reveal it during a live event. Join them for “This Is NPR…An Evening with Planet Money” at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 27 at Sixth and I Historic Synagogue in Washington, D.C.

Tickets for this one-night engagement are on sale now. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 on the day of the event, and are available for purchase through Ticketfly and at the Sixth and I box office. Seating is general admission.

During the evening, Adam and Alex will embark on a lively and enjoyable conversation about the not-so-lively and not-terribly-enjoyable national economy. The duo will share some of the best moments from Planet Money and introduce you to one-of-a-kind characters. They'll also explain a few things about the financial crisis: why unemployment is still so high and probably won't come down any time soon; how the economy has fundamentally changed in ways that are just beginning to be understood; and why the solution to most of the problems might just involve three year-olds and finger-painting.
