I-95 South Closures This Weekend

dcmetroThe Virginia Department of Transportation is closing all lanes of I-95 South on Friday night and Saturday night for bridge work at Route 234, according to a VDOT release.
Motorists will be able to take a detour to Route 1.
The lanes will begin closing at 9:30 p.m. both nights, with full closures by 1 a.m. The roads will begin to reopen at 4 a.m. on Saturday morning and 5 a.m. on Sunday morning. The closures will happen between Exit 152 and Exit 150.
During the closure, crews will be working to lift steel beams for the new bridge for the upcoming 95 Express Lanes.
To follow the detour, exit at 152 A at Route 234 east and go to Route 1 south to Joplin Road and then return to I-95 south. One Route 1 lane will also be closed before Dumfries Road to help accommodate the higher traffic from the detour.
