So sad about the Tyson's store closing. SO. SAD.

I haven't been paying attention. Are they having any sort of huge closeout sale?

The Friendship Heights store has started closeout sales. Here's the ad that I received just for that store. I think each store has its own schedule for closing.

When I went to that store a week ago, they were at 20% off retail for books, 40% off magazines and, erm...something else (30% maybe?) off of stationary and you could definitely see the depletion of the stock. No idea what they're at now either in terms of discount or number of books remaining on the shelves.

Mark used to work at the Friendship Heights store, and we predicted that one would close. I'm surprised about the one at 18th & K, though.

Me too. I was also surprised by the Tysons Corner and White Flint stores. Upon consideration I think it's because they are so large.

Oddly enough, I received a closing notice for the Friendship Heights store, which I've been to once several years ago, but not for the others, all of which I've been to within the past year (except the Mitchellville Rd one).
