We will be focusing primarily of sculpture this year....showcasing many of the accomplished artists from the Washington Glass School, including Erwin Timmers, Michael Janis, Tim Tate, Sean Hennessey, Debra Ruzinsky, Syl Mathis, Nancy Donnelly, and Rob Kincheloe and more! Chris Shea - superstar blacksmith & recent inductee to the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Museum will be showing his latest work. Flux Studios, the ceramic studio right behind us, will also be participating with Novie Trump, Laurel Lukaszewski, Jessica Beels, Jeffery Herrity and others. Ellen Weiss' encaustic studio is joining the fun as well! So come join us for this fun holiday event.....filled with music and cool stuff!
A unique educational program in the Nation's capital, The Washington Glass School and Creative Arts Community offers something for everyone with classes for both the beginning and seasoned artists. Beginning artists can get an overview of what we offer in the introductory weekend workshop (Beginner's Weekend), which introduces you to three different glass forming techniques used in the majority of the kiln-forming classes, or dive right in to any of our more specific courses.
For the more experienced glass artist, we offer the opportunity to explore new mediums through class time or open studio, tools and kilns at your disposal.
