Imagine that you think you might be facing an unintended pregnancy. You need support, health-care services, and information on all your options, and you’re looking for a local health-care center that will provide it. Imagine your dismay when you accidentally find yourself at a facility that offers misinformation and uses heavy-handed pressure tactics in order to block you from making the choice that you feel is best for you and your family instead of giving you information about all of your reproductive health-care options.

This scenario sounds like a bad joke, but there are more than 4,000 such anti-choice "crisis pregnancy centers" (CPCs) nationwide and at least 52 in Virginia alone.
CPCs have operated under the radar for decades, pushing an anti-choice agenda with deception and medical misinformation. NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia Foundation led the way in exposing these fake “clinics” with our undercover CPC investigation in 2009. Now we’re offering another opportunity to learn about the role of CPCs thanks to the documentary 12th & Delaware.

Join us at the Unitarian Universalists of Sterling in Sterling, Virginia on Friday, September 7, to see this important film. Admission is free, but space will be limited. Reserve your ticket by contacting RSVP@naralva.org.

12th & Delaware follows activity on a quiet, unassuming street corner in Florida where a legitimate women’s health clinic stands across from a crisis pregnancy center. You’ll see how CPCs’ tactics affect women who are looking for support and comprehensive information. The film doesn’t take a position on choice – it starts a conversation, and is changing the dialogue surrounding the threat of CPCs pose to a woman’s right to choose.

Become a part of that dialogue by joining NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia Foundation and fellow pro-choice Virginians to discuss what’s really at stake for women who need to access family planning and abortion care throughout the nation and in Virginia. Get your tickets today while they’re still available by contacting RSVP@naralva.org.
